Subject: Sore Left Breast

About 2 months ago my left breast got sore. White stuff came out of pimples around the nipple. About three weeks ago it got sore again and a little black watery stuff came out. Can you help?

Answer:

There are many different possible answers that depend on information you haven’t provided. Breasts do get sore depending on where you are in your menstrual cycle. Small pimples filled with ‘white stuff’ do form around nipples. And even if you are not breastfeeding or pregnant, fluid can come out of your breasts. Much depends on your stage of development and age. Still, if you should make an appointment with a public health nurse, or a breast health practitioner to learn more about your breast health and your specific situation.
