Breast Reduction Surgery
My sister is a teaching physician. She says a person should be at their optimal weight for the breast reduction surgery. My daughter needs to lose 15 pounds.Would it be better to wait till then? Also, the doctor says that having it done over Christmas Break is fine, but I think it would be better to have it done during summer break so she would be close to the doctor and not have to carry heavy books around with her all over campus. She is only just turned 18 and I cannot get her to postpone the surgery. Also, I would like her to have it done in NY with the new scar procedure by Cosmedical. She is in such a rush, I cannot persuade her. I fear for her scarring.
Answer:
I am not a medical professional. Any kind of surgery should be clearly planned out with all aspects considered, including convalescence. Rushing into non-essential surgery is unwise and can lead to regret.
You might consider getting another opinion from a different medical-based source other than a family member. And, given that your daughter is 18, you may have to live with her decision.
