We have begun a young woman's club at my school (Central Tech) and this is our second week. Today one of the girls from our club brought the ad in to show us. We talked about it, and immediately after my teacher saw the ad, we walked into her office to call bell sympatico. She spoke to a gentleman on the phone about the ad and a few of the comments the gentleman made was that he did not understand why people were making a big deal out of this ad, that "we" don't watch naked men (my teacher asked him how he would feel if there were a picture of a man with his penis cut out). The next person my teacher called was from Executive Office. We got the email and now we are planning on sending official complaints about this advertisement.
I am completely appauled by this advertisement because of the fear they are instilling in our society. I am a survivor of sexual abuse so the first thing that came to my mind was how they could treat a female's body as an object (the way they cut the pictures out) and how they could even dare to say that they are protecting our children, as if female's are the route of all evil. I can only imagine what children must think of this advertisement that Bell has created. As well as parents. This is not protecting a child at all, it might only prepare us to fight or discriminate.
A better advertisement could show family's together, talking with one another, spending time together. Something that displays love. Pornography is a big issue but if a family is supportive and close with one another, they will know how to protect eachother from even predators and pedophile's. What kind of image were they trying to make? I think knowing about your own body makes you more sensitive and compassionate towards others and allows you to treat others with respect.

Great article.

Your article is great.
Thanks.

Really COOL!

Wow, superb!
Thanks.
