I understand the position of the breast cancer patient who wants to have breast reconstruction following a mastectomy.

re: The Breast Blog: Implementing an Implant Idea

I so agree with you regarding why any woman should put herself under the knife and have foreign material put into her body just to conform to society's obsession with big breasts.

I just came across this posting (look at the first comment under the comments section).

By the sound of it English is not King's first language so he phrases his comments differently to how I would. But I agree with his sentiments. As a man, I really like breasts but only natural ones. Size is not really important. What is important is femininity. Small breasts can be really feminine, really cute and actually really sexy.

I can understand a woman wanting to be restored to her "normal self" after a truama (breast cancer or severe sudden weight loss). But I am really sad that we men have made women feel like you have to have big breasts to attract us. You don't.

For us, it is about being macho amongst ourselves. It's socially hard for us to talk amongst ourselves about liking small breasts. It shouldn't be and each of us should do everything we can to break the taboo, but for the moment it is. So when we remark and jostle and whistle and gesture towards a woman with big breasts it is mostly about looking good in front of our mates.

So rather than encouraging an industry around breast implants for women, we should really be encouraging an industry around brain implants for men.

re: The Breast Blog: Implementing an Implant Idea

I think the trend is so distrurbing. Teenage girls with little or no idea on, who they are, should not have implants!

A minimum-age of 21 years to get breast implants would help, I think.
