The Breast Blog: How to Become a Breast Health Ambassador - Chapter One / Activities
More tools for being brave by yet another woman named Sue. And get this, she's Canadian and a Breast Health Ambassador too! Must be something in the water up here.
This media piece arrived yesterday.
"Sue Johanson has been talking openly and honestly about sex for over 25 years as a sex educator. Her down-to-earth language and non-judgmental way have made her a favorite among high school and university students across the country. "Sex is...perfectly natural," she says. "It's something that's pleasurable. It's enjoyable and it enhances a relationship. So why don't we learn as much as we can about it and become comfortable with ourselves as sexual human beings because we are all sexual."
In addition to being a Registered Nurse, Sue has completed numerous post-graduate courses and has hosted the award winning talk show the Sunday Night Sex Show on the W Network since 1996. During each program, Sue offers helpful guidance on the complex topics of love, relationships and sex. "People are uncomfortable talking about sex because they don't want others to think they know about it. Only 'sleaze bags' know about sex. The other answer is, of course, they don't have the basic information. They don't have language they're comfortable with. They can't say 'breast' comfortably, but they don't like the word 'tits .' So, they don't have the language or the skills or the knowledge - and if you put them all together, you have a complete communication block."
Breast Sue here again. Today's courage finding task. Stand in front of a mirror and say 'breast' outloud 20 times. For the bonus round and one hundred million dollars, do the same exercise with the word 'nipple'.
